INTEMPO Announces 2nd Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Benefit Concert Series. INTEMPO is proud to announce the return of its Hispanic Heritage Month Benefit Concert Series, a celebration of Latin American music and culture, kicking off on September 14 and running through October 13. This year’s series will feature performances across four towns in Fairfield County: Darien, New Canaan, Westport and Greenwich. The concert series will showcase the talent of INTEMPO's lead teaching artist, Geo Suquillo, along with INTEMPO students, and guest musician, Walter Custodio on percussion. These performances are a tribute to the rich cultural heritage of the Hispanic community and a demonstration of the power of music to unite and inspire. “Our Hispanic Heritage Month concert series will enrich the cultural fabric of Fairfield County,” said Robbin Juris, INTEMPO Interim Co-Executive Director. “The concerts provide a platform for community members to take pride in their cultural heritage and for people from different backgrounds to come together in a celebration of the rich diversity of Latin American music.” Concert Dates and Locations: Saturday, September 14 - 5:00pm St. Luke's Episcopal Church 1864 Post Rd, Darien, CT Thursday, September 19 - 7:00pm New Canaan Library 151 Main St, New Canaan, CT (Free Event) Saturday, September 28 - 4:00pm Green’s Farms Church 71 Hillandale Rd, Westport, CT Sunday, October 13 - 4:00pm The First Congregational Church of Greenwich 108 Sound Beach Ave, Old Greenwich, CT A suggested donation of $10 is requested at all events except the New Canaan Library concert, which will be free to the public. All proceeds will support INTEMPO’s mission to provide culturally relevant, high-quality music education to underrepresented children. INTEMPO is also seeking sponsorships for this year’s concert series. These sponsorships are essential for sustaining programs that empower underserved communities and youth to participate in music.
