Greenwich Police announced on Tuesday the retirement of Sergeant Brent Reeves earlier this month.![]()

In 2017, Sergeant Reeves was named the supervisor of the Special Victims Section. This unit of specially trained women and men investigates and works to prevent crimes by and against children and other vulnerable groups. He also leads the Department’s School Resource Officers.
Sergeant Reeves’ work with juveniles, families, and community-based victims’ advocacy groups, such as the YWCA and the Department of Children and Families (DCF), has not gone unnoticed. His efforts have resulted in numerous departmental commendations, service awards, and letters of appreciation, a testament to his dedication and impact on the community.
Since January of this year, Sergeant Reeves has served as Interim Director of Security for the Greenwich Public Schools. His experience, expertise, and knowledge of school safety protocols make him well-prepared for that role.
GPD is grateful to Sergeant Reeves for 27 years of service and a legacy of professionalism and dedication to duty. We recognize that his success would not have been possible without the support of the entire Greenwich Police Department, and we applaud his decision to continue serving the Town of Greenwich through the Greenwich Public Schools’ interim role.

He served as the Department’s coordinator of domestic violence crimes and supervisor of the Special Victims Section.
Sergeant Reeves joined the Department in 1997 and became a sergeant in the Patrol Division in 2005. He quickly earned a reputation for compassion, sensitivity, and tenacity in handling domestic violence cases. He soon became the Department’s go-to person to train officers on proper procedures for investigating one of the Town’s most challenging and prevalent violent crimes.
